Sentinel

I have spent many nights taking shots at the Baltimore Beacon West Cork, but on this occasion I wanted to change the composition to get more of the cliffs into the image.

On this particular night, I moved to a very different view point, a bluff looking due South where the rising Milky Way would arc over the edge of the cliffs. To get the sky, ocean, and the foreground cliffs and inlet into the image, I had to take a 4 pane mosaic. Both the foreground and the sky are two pane panels stitched together.

The foreground images were 1600ISO, F/5.6 and 4mins each, which I blended with a 2 pane mosaic of a tracked sky. Each tracked sky shot for the panoramic consisted of eight, 3-min exposures, at 1600ISO and F/4.  After creating the foreground mosaic, and the sky mosaic, I blended them into the final image, the Sentinel.
